Strategic Communications for EU & UN Programmes
The International Diaries
Mostly diplomatic. Entirely human.
Stories from two decades in international development. On communications, reforms, and the people who make things happen.
Selected Programmes. Real Results.

Georgia · Moldova · Türkiye · Ukraine
A Black Sea problem across Georgia, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine. Solutions from three continents.
I led the communications campaign for the Blueing the Black Sea Eco-Innovation Challenge, reaching out to innovators worldwide – from startups and private companies to universities, research institutions and NGOs.
The campaign helped attract applications from 40 countries, from across 3 continents: Europe, Africa and Asia, bringing wide international attention and feasible solutions to tackling Black Sea pollution.

Ukraine
Slow Down, Ukraine! A Road Safety Campaign with Measurable Results.
Speeding is a major risk factor for fatal road crashes worldwide. In Ukraine, Не жени, Україно! (Slow Down, Ukraine!) brought that message directly to drivers through a nationwide awareness campaign.
I coordinated the campaign with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the European Investment Bank and local authorities, using television, outdoor advertising, cinemas and public outreach across six regions, Kyiv and Odesa.
The results went beyond awareness. Monitoring recorded lower average driving speeds at six of seven observation points during the campaign compared with before and after. Around half of surveyed respondents also reported that the campaign’s advertising encouraged them to respect speed limits.

Moldova
The Millennium Development Goals in Moldova
I was in my early twenties when I designed and implemented Moldova’s nationwide public awareness campaign on the UN Millennium Development Goals.
Working with UNDP, government institutions and media partners, I brought issues ranging from poverty and education to maternal health and gender equality into public discussion through television, radio, outdoor advertising, journalist training and public debates.
The campaign was launched alongside Moldova’s Prime Minister and the UN Resident Coordinator, bringing national-level visibility to the country’s development priorities.

Central Asia
Communicating Sustainable Energy Across Central Asia
Communicating renewable energy and energy efficiency across five Central Asian countries meant working with different governments, institutions and audiences — from policymakers to the media and civil society.
For the EU-funded Sustainable Energy Programme for Central Asia (CASEP), I developed the regional communications strategy, drawing on consultations with government officials, parliamentarians and civil society representatives.
The work combined media outreach, EU Sustainable Energy Days and communications training for government institutions and electricity distribution companies, making complex energy issues more accessible to those shaping and implementing policy.
