About Me

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked on EU and UN programmes across Europe and Central Asia, covering everything from transport and infrastructure to environmental protection, sustainable energy, public health, education, gender equality, human rights, civil society and EU integration.

I’ve taken projects with very little public visibility and built their communications from the ground up – from strategy and visual identity to campaigns, media outreach and relationships with partners.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with some exceptional managers. They set a high bar, and I learned a great deal from them. Good ideas mattered, but so did knowing your brief inside out, anticipating problems, having a plan B (and preferably C), and getting things done without needing constant direction.

I involve colleagues, government counterparts and donors from the start, not just when I need their input or approval. When people trust you, they share their knowledge, contribute ideas and help ensure communications contribute to the programme’s goals – rather than simply publicising its activities.

I believe a good communications adviser should make a programme manager’s job easier, not give them another thing to worry about. And make sure the programme gets more than attention – it earns the trust and support it needs to succeed.
